May 1st would be a fun day for Vacation Bible School Pre-registration of students. Make it an event! This would be a good time to address the congregation and preview your plans for Vacation Bible School with a call to register. May Day traditionally gives a basket to someone you care about and elicits a kiss. Making May Day baskets with candy kisses and handing the out to students that pre-register is a fun way to reward them for committing to VBS. If you have magnet Save The Date cards, include them in the baskets. Ask your volunteers to be part of the event. Take time to introduce the students and their parents to the volunteer you’re their child or children.
