VBS- Week 13 - GrowthPartners International

Your plans included a clean up crew. Many churches have a small staff during the summer months, especially janitorial. Remember to leave the classrooms as you found them – or better. Your efforts will be appreciated. Now is also the time to put your follow up plan into action. It could be identifying children who are not members of your congregation. A friendly call to comment on their child’s participation and education is an opportunity to make a friend. It is also an opportunity to invite the family to your “Rally Sunday” event. Mention the save the date magnet in the student’s take home items. Welcoming and inviting the family might include having coffee with the family after a church service. Either look to the volunteers from your VBS, as they know the student, or ask for volunteers to be part of the follow up. It might be support staff for VBS. Your follow up could include a gathering at the end of the VBS for families, giving your pastor a chance to connect with families. This could serve as your awards ceremony. If you have a date for next year’s VBS, have everyone put it on their calendar. Your goal is growing your community – one child at a time.
